The LOFT is a rustic, converted turn-of-the-century barn sitting on the north-east shore of Lake Saint-Pierre de Wakefield, about 35 minutes (40km) north of Ottawa, off hwy 307.

The living area is the “open-concept” 2nd floor loft, which features a large south-facing window looking out over the lake, a comfortable and sunny sitting area with an airtight wood-stove, a well equipped kitchen, a separate dining area, the master bedroom, and a 4-piece bathroom with laundry facilities. A smaller 3rd level loft (up a very steep staircase!) provides additional sleeping for up to 6 persons (2 single beds, a double bed, and a double futon). The ground floor is a canoe-building workshop, used only when the loft “apartment” is vacant.

The 4 acre property features native garden areas overlooking the lake, with 400 feet of waterfront. Floating docks extend 60’ out into the lake, with a canoe and detached swimming platform provided. In summer, the region offers the possibility of many water activities… miles of canoeing, windsurfing, and sailing off the dock in front of the barn. For the more adventurous, use the barn as a base camp for wilderness canoeing and camping on lac Poisson Blanc, a short drive away.

In the winter, arrange for an inter-lake dogsled trip from the front door, or explore the lake on your kick-sled. Local ski hills and cross-country trails are within easy drives, and Ottawa/Gatineau is a 30 minutes away.

2011-2012 Rates:

High season: (July and August) $1100.00 per week.
Mid-season: (May and June, September and October) $800/week, $500 for a long-weekend.
Off-season: (* November through April) $300/weekend, $400/long weekend, $400/4 nights, $500/week, or $1500/month.
* Christmas and New Years: $1100/week..

These rates apply for up to 6 persons, all inclusive. There is a 25% surcharge on the applicable rate for each additional person, up to a maximum of 8 persons, including children. A deposit of 25% is requested
